MY PHILOSOPY....
My Educational philosophy is alway evolving but after being in the education field for almost 20 years I am able to have a few concrete attributes in place.
I believe it is important for students to understand how language learning is not an isolated experience in a classroom but a living and evolving process that is able to take place whenever one is tuned in to the world around them. I believe in having students be life long learner and making language accessible and alive.
I believe a teacher should let students know you care about them as individuals as much as you care about the subject matter. I also believe that there must be mutual respect between a student and teacher. An outstanding teacher will glean knowledge from her students just as much as she provides them with knowledge.
I believe it is important to have patience, perseverance, and the ability to know which way a lesson is headed and adjust the lesson accordingly. I also feel it is imperative to engage students by using various methods to enhance the learning process.
I believe a teacher will have an authentic passion for the subject she teaches. She/he will also continue professional development by using new teaching methodologies for the benefits of her students. She will continue to learn along with her students.
